Beyond aesthetics
Wider dental & medical benefits
Botox is best known for softening fine lines, but the same medicine has a number of well-established dental and medical uses. We always assess suitability on an individual basis at consultation.
Jaw clenching & teeth grinding (bruxism)
Carefully placed injections into the masseter muscles can reduce involuntary clenching and grinding, easing jaw tension, headaches and tooth wear for patients who struggle with bruxism.
TMJ / jaw pain
For patients with chronic temporomandibular joint discomfort, Botox can help relax the muscles around the joint and reduce day-to-day pain.
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
Botox is an established treatment for hyperhidrosis, most commonly under the arms. A single session takes around 30 minutes and results typically last up to six months.
Gummy smile
A small, well-placed dose can soften the lift of the upper lip during a wide smile, helping balance the proportion of gum-to-tooth on show.
Tension-type & migraine headaches
Where headaches are linked to muscular tension around the jaw and temples, Botox can play a supportive role alongside other treatments.
Any wider medical use is assessed individually at consultation. Treatments mentioned here are not a substitute for medical advice from your GP.
